Themes
Pick a look, change it, and reset it.
A theme sets the colours, type and shape of what people see. It never changes what you see in Chaos. Open the Design tab to work on it. The preview beside it updates as you go.
Choose a theme
There are 18 themes. Lilac is the default. Paper is still there if you want the plainer card look. Evergreen is the bold green look Chaos started with. Others include Soft grid, Spotlight, Terracotta, Ocean, Midnight, Garden, Neon, Aurora, Candy, Terminal, Newsprint, Arcade, Velvet and Sunset.
- Open Design.
- Under Theme, press a tile.
- Check the preview. On a phone, press Preview for a full-screen view.
Lilac and Banner themes
Lilac has a lilac page, a white title card with a coloured strip on top, one card per question, underlined text boxes, round radio buttons and a Submit button on the left with Clear form on the right. Its type is Roboto, and Arabic text uses Cairo.
Banner has a full-width coloured banner with the title, one white column below it, numbered questions and boxed inputs. It uses the Segoe UI font that comes with Windows. On other devices the system font shows instead, because Chaos does not include Segoe.
- Change the Accent colour to recolour the strip, the banner, buttons and question numbers.
- Both styles show all questions on one page. In the other modes only the colours and fonts apply.
- They resemble those products. They are not affiliated with Google or Microsoft, and use no logos.
Reset a theme
Once you change anything, the heading reads Lilac · edited (or whichever theme you started from) and a Reset button appears. It puts the colours, fonts, buttons and layout back. Your logo and your sound choice stay.
Save a theme for later
Open Customize colours, fonts and more, then Saved themes. Type a name and press Save. Apply it from the same list on any other form, or press the bin to delete it.
The theme new forms start with
Open Settings, then New forms. Choose a theme, a mode, a language and whether sounds are on. Templates and imports keep their own look.
